Las Vegas - BLC 2026
I recently returned from my trip to Las Vegas. I attended as a signing author at Book Lovers Convention 2026 and had the opportunity to interact with other authors and readers, too. That was a wonderful experience for me to be part of the #BLC26 excitement!
I attended with one of my very best friends, Isabelle Drake. She has been instrumental in helping to shape my life as a writer. I’ve known her for years and she is truly generous as a writing instructor and more importantly as a friend.
Originally Las Vegas held a different focus for me. I went thru a divorce last year from my husband. It was amicable and we remain very close friends to this day. I decided that I was no longer attracted to men and I wanted to date women. I met a woman last year around the time of my divorce. We broke up in January and so the focus of the trip had changed for me since we had planned to go to Vegas together.
I wasn’t sure how I was going to feel about going to Vegas after the breakup. While I did take a few moments to grieve and cry for what “could have been,” for the most part I was still able to have a good time and enjoy the great food, the excellent drinks, and the wonderful company. Overall, the trip was a success and I met some lovely people who had wonderful stories to share.
One of the wonderful things about meeting other writers is they hand out TONS of swag and free books. I shipped most of it back home and it arrived last week.
